The journey of Panamar Ko Ranao Marketing Cooperative is a powerful testament to the resilience and unwavering spirit of the people of Lanao del Sur. Our story began on October 15, 2017, emerging directly from the profound challenges faced by communities in the immediate aftermath of the Marawi Siege. In a time when new income opportunities and sustainable economic growth were desperately needed, a dedicated group of fifteen founding members came together with a singular, powerful goal: to forge a path forward, rooted in community empowerment and sustainable development.

A Foundation Forged in Necessity

Initially, our efforts were focused on reselling local products. This allowed us to generate an immediate income stream for our members, providing crucial support during a period of rebuilding. This foundational period laid the groundwork for the more expansive income-generating activities that would follow. Our very establishment was a firm declaration of belief that true progress blooms when communities are empowered and development is sustainable.

A Strategic Pivot: Adapting to Adversity

The world faced unprecedented challenges with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Far from halting our progress, this global crisis presented a new set of hurdles and, crucially, a pivotal turning point for Panamar Ko Ranao.

Under the visionary leadership of Chairman Hamdanie T. Tahir, our cooperative made a bold strategic pivot. We ventured into the expansive agricultural lands of Camponga-Raya, Ganassi, and acquired approximately 20 hectares for cooperative use. This audacious move marked our profound transformation from a small-scale reseller to a direct agricultural producer, firmly laying the foundation for our proposed enterprise: a comprehensive Integrated Coconut Production and Processing facility. This evolution perfectly encapsulates our core philosophy of adapting, innovating, and persistently finding new pathways to growth, even when confronted with the most challenging of adversities.
