GANASSI, LANAO DEL SUR – Behind every bottle of Panamar Ko Ranao’s Virgin Coconut Oil is a story of dedication, hard work, and community. While our products travel to markets across the region, our greatest strength remains right here in Lanao del Sur with our members—the heart and soul of our cooperative.

Our vibrant community is comprised of 127 individuals, with the vast majority—90 members—being the coconut planters who are the stewards of our land. To understand our impact is to understand their journey.

For many local farmers, the traditional market can be unpredictable. They often face volatile price drops and the uncertainty of finding a consistent buyer for their harvest. This is where the cooperative model changes everything.

By entering into supply contracts with Panamar Ko Ranao, our farmers receive a stable and guaranteed market for their coconuts. This shields them from market volatility and ensures a predictable and fair income, which is crucial for their financial planning and stability.

But the benefits extend far beyond the farm gate. As co-owners of the cooperative, our farmers receive a direct share of the profits through dividends and patronage refunds. In 2024 alone, over PhP 101,000 was allocated for distribution to members, directly rewarding their contribution to our collective success. Furthermore, farmers and their family members have the opportunity for direct employment in our processing and logistics operations, or to participate in value-added activities like crafting goods from coconut shells and coir.

“Being part of Panamar Ko Ranao means I am not just a supplier; I am a co-owner,” says one of our long-time farmer-members. “This cooperative has given my family a stable income and a share in the success we all build together.”
